Who I am

Hi, I'm Nicole.

And yes, this is the part where I talk about myself.

I grew up fully immersed in the arts. For a while I thought I’d become a painter, a fashion designer, even a veterinarian.… clearly I had range.   But dance was the one that stuck. I spent my high school and college years in concert dance, learning how to move, feel, and tell stories without saying a word.

Somewhere along the way I picked up a beginner Nikon and never really put it down.

I started photographing dancers because it was the world I understood best. I knew how movement worked, how a moment builds, and how quickly it disappears if you’re not paying attention. I became fascinated by the details inside it. The way hair and fabric carry motion. The inhale before a jump. The split second where everything finally clicks.

(And if you blink, you miss it. So I don’t blink.)



Over time, that same way of seeing started to shape everything I photographed.

Today I’m a Chicago-based photographer specializing in dance photography, weddings, and graduate portraits. Different moments, different stories, but the same idea behind all of them. Paying attention to the timing, emotion, and energy that make a moment feel real.

Because whether it’s a dancer on stage, a couple on their wedding day, or a graduate stepping into their next chapter, every story deserves to be seen with care, curiosity… and someone who knows exactly when to press the shutter.
