Weddings have a way of flying by faster than you ever expect. One minute you’re getting ready, and the next, the whole day is unfolding in this beautiful blur. The squeeze of your best friend’s hand before the ceremony, your dad taking that quiet breath before walking you down the aisle, the look on your partner’s face when they see you and realize this is finally happening!!!

Those are the moments that make your day feel like yours, and they deserve to be remembered just as much as the big, obvious ones.

And those are the moments I’m paying attention to all day, so when you open your gallery later, they’re all right there waiting for you.

I hope this season has been filled with a lot of love, a lot of excitement, and maybe a tiny bit of chaos (the fun kind).

So in the spirit of keeping things real, here’s a completely candid, zero-filter, Y2K snap-and-shoot gem from my own wedding day.

Photographing weddings both before and after having one of my own gave me a perspective I really value. Being a bride didn’t change how I photograph weddings, but it did remind me how much trust you place in the person behind the camera.

And when the day starts moving fast, it’s a huge relief knowing someone experienced is paying attention to everything happening around you.
